Enmity

I joined the Air Force to see —

More of this World

And through a wider Lens —

But I’ve seen Enough

To know — that just because

You are my Enemy and

I may have to kill You

Does not somehow mean

You are a bad person.

That’s always the battle I think that a soldier must bear in his/her soul. Knowing that the “enemy” is just a fellow human being on the opposite end of someone else’s political agenda.
